If you're expecting or you already have little ones under the age of five and you live in the Geneva Heights Elementary zone then Pre-Geneva is the resource that you won't be able to live without.

The association was the brainchild of Wendy Hatchell and blossomed through her community-driven efforts. The goal of association is simple:

We're here to connect neighbors and help build friendships between parents and kids alike. You can expect tons of fun activities, like playgroups, parents’ nights out, and lots of helpful information about the Geneva Heights Elementary school and their associated programs. It doesn't matter if your child eventually goes to Geneva Heights Elementary or not, you and your family are welcome here—no strings attached.

Get to know Geneva Heights Elementary

Here's the quick lowdown on the elementary school.

  • Opened in 1927 as the Robert E. Lee Elementary School in a small building facing Matilda St., the school then moved to a two-story building in 1931. The original schoolhouse was demolished

  • Geneva Heights is one of only two elementary schools in Dallas ISD with a certified International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme ๐ŸŽ‰ - both J.L. Long and Woodrow Wilson are also IB schools. These are where kids typically go to after leaving Geneva Heights Elementary

  • Geneva Heights is one of the few schools that offers a two-way dual-language program, and recently introduced German as a Specials class beginning in 2023.

  • Principal Israel Verver Jr., has led the school since 2023, and has dedicated his 19-year career to Dallas ISD. He is a product of DISD and with the support and encouragement of teachers, his family and community, he became the first in his family to attend college. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame. He began his DISD career serving as a teacher within the Oak Cliff and Pleasant Grove communities. He pursued a Masters in Educational Leadership from the University of North Texas before starting his next academic journey as an Assistant Principal and later, advancing to the role of Principal at various schools within DISD before joining the Geneva Heights community. Geneva Heights Elementary School is currently undergoing a significant remodel, due to be completed in the Fall of 2024.
